Amazon Ops vs Boutique IB

Second year student, only got 1 AC for this cycle and just got the rejection for that.

For the summer of 2024, I already have an offer for amazon ops, or I could try recruiting for boutique firms in London by sending out speculative applications.

Any advice on what would put me in a better position for the 2025 cycle? For context, I study finance at a target right now and plan on doing a masters in finance after graduation.

Thanks for your input.

Thing is I’ve seen a lot of success from no-name boutiques on LinkedIn though. Same can’t be said for other “non finance” roles in big companies like amazon.

A bit hesitant on the whole thing icl

Sign at Amazon and continue recruiting late into the cycle

Then reneg if you get anything worthwhile

Yes they would be significantly better , Amazon ops is essentially managing a warehouse from my understanding while the others will teach you skills directly applicable to the industry , may even get a return which puts you in a good spot if you don’t get a summer next cycle.

Got it thanks. One thing worth mentioning though is I did have an internship at a relatively unknown private bank (not in the UK) in the summer of first year. Considering I've already had something similar to a no-name boutique internship, would it still not be better to take the Amazon internship?

Appreciate the help!
