Any advice in Toronto

Hey guys/gals, I understand this is not your typical situation but I wanted to reach out because asking for help never hurts. I am currently looking to make a career change and move into Finance, preferably in Toronto as that is where I live. I've been a professional athlete for the past 6 years so my "work experience" is pretty much zip aside from an internship at a small WM/securities firm. I did my undergrad in Accounting at a small non-target in NY(accepted full scholarship when I was 16 and had no idea at the time about importance of where you went to school). I completed my MBA from the UK over the last 2 years as an athlete and recently completed the CSC and started the CFA program. Would love an IB internship/analyst role but I have learned hard and fast how competitive this city is and not having the network or typical Canadian education has not helped so I have started looking at other avenues. Have applied to everything from IB, S&T, to associate roles for IA's, and everything in between.
If anyone on has any tips, recommendations, or would be interested in grabbing coffee...etc it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to respond or shoot me a DM
-I have dual CAD/US citizenship should any fellow Americans read this. (Happy Thanksgiving, go Vikings.)

Thank you all for your great service to this site and have a great day.
