Applying to both spring weeks and summer internships
Title says it all. Have the chance to do a Master's which will delay my graduation by a year if summer recruiting doesn't work out. Is it a good idea to apply for both of these, or would you advise against it? Thanks!
pretty sure you can only apply to 1 at each firm (although multiple roles in each section). For example, if you apply for springs as a second year and then also summers at the same bank they're going to be wondering whether or not you are on a 3-year or 4-year course. More than likely they'll just reject w/o asking; imo commit to one .
Depends how strong a candidate you are right now. If you're confident, apply for a summer and do two of them (if you do a masters). If you're not confident, you have a better shot with springs (although not by much as there are less spots)
^adding to this, spring week applications look easier on paper but are way more of a crapshoot. Diversity schemes/quotas and just generally vague recruitment aims that try to cast wider nets rather than picking out extremely strong/knowledgeable candidates make spring weeks typically less predictable than summer internships where there's less of this. Depends where you are at right now though as rightly said before.
