I have applied for the summer associate position at Barclays capital in the london office back in december. Im applying from dubai. I have not heard back from them until yesterday when I received an email from them saying that they have completed their hiring for this season however they would like to keep my application on hold in case an opening becomes available. They also said that they should update me within 4 weeks on the current situation.
Has anybody had a similar experience before? Is this just a polite way of refuting the application or are they just keeping as an emergency substitute if someone bails out on them?
