Be honest ?

I'm a first year university student (at a non target) who since joining uni have become interested in working in investment banking. I didn't perform the best at A level getting a BCC due to a combination of things but mostly down to illness, I still went to uni because I believe I really needed a change and needed to become my own man .I understand the minimum grades for investment banking are something like an AAB. I have managed to secure a spring week at HSBC this year which was good for my resume and for my experience of course. I have seriously been considering retaking the two A levels I got a C in after uni, hopefully getting a first at uni because I genuinely feel I can now do better and think it would make getting into IB easier.

My main questions are how much do banks look at retakes and will retake in this case be worth it ?

And if retaking is hardly an option, is my IB dream just dead ?

Any advice/ honesty is appreciated .

Congratulations on your spring week - honestly take that as a sign you are competent enough - HSBC have a good conversation rate from springs to summers from my experience so make sure you give that your all!
