Best IB/PE Internship Trackers for London & Europe?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently preparing for the upcoming recruiting cycles, focusing primarily on Investment Banking (IB) and Private Equity (PE) internships.

Up until now, I’ve mainly been relying on Trackr. While it’s been a solid starting point for major bulge bracket timelines, I’m starting to feel like it’s incomplete. I feel like I'm missing out on a ton of off-cycle internships, boutique listings, and early-stage PE openings.

I am primarily targeting London, but I am also keeping an eye on other hubs, like NY, Singapore, HK (tricky with visa, but still shooting my shot).

My Questions:

  1. What trackers/databases are you using to stay ahead of the curve? Are there specific regional sheets, Notion templates, or websites you swear by? Its also important to me to actually have current listings / see the publishing date. Many listings are outdated and a waste of time.
  2. How do you track boutique and PE off-cycles? (These seem to pop up randomly and get filled almost instantly).
  3. Are there alternative aggregators worth looking into? I’ve heard of things like Fyntraq (for European roles) or Canary Wharfian / Adventis for UK/US. Are any of these actually worth the hype/subscription, or is there a better community-run GitHub repository or Discord server I should join?

Any advice, shared Google Sheets, or hidden gems would be massive.

Thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone recruiting right now!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights and recommendations for tracking IB/PE internships in London and Europe:

  1. Trackers and Databases:

    • WSO Company Database: This is a robust resource for tracking firms, timelines, and opportunities across IB and PE. It includes detailed information on firms, compensation, and reviews.
    • Fyntraq: Specifically mentioned for European roles, it’s worth exploring if you’re targeting off-cycle and boutique opportunities in Europe. Feedback on its utility varies, so trialing it might help determine its value for your needs.
    • Adventis: Known for its focus on UK/US roles, it’s another option to consider. It’s often praised for its structured approach to tracking timelines and openings.
    • Canary Wharfian: This is another name that pops up for UK-focused roles. It’s worth checking out if you’re targeting London specifically.
  2. Tracking Boutique and PE Off-Cycles:

    • Community-Driven Resources: Many users on WSO forums recommend joining finance-focused Discord servers or GitHub repositories where members share updates on boutique and off-cycle openings. These are often more dynamic and up-to-date than static trackers.
    • Networking: Staying connected with alumni, recruiters, and professionals in your target firms can give you a heads-up on off-cycle roles that aren’t widely advertised.
    • LinkedIn and Firm Websites: Regularly checking boutique firm websites and LinkedIn job postings can help you catch these roles early.
  3. Alternative Aggregators:

    • Regional Sheets and Notion Templates: Some WSO users have shared regional Google Sheets or Notion templates for tracking internships. These are often community-driven and updated frequently.
    • Fyntraq and Adventis: As mentioned, these are popular for European and UK/US roles, respectively. Their value depends on how well they align with your specific targets.
    • GitHub Repositories: Some community-run repositories compile internship opportunities, especially for boutique and off-cycle roles. Searching GitHub for finance-related repositories might uncover hidden gems.
  4. Tips for Staying Ahead:

    • Timeliness: Focus on platforms that display publishing dates for listings to avoid wasting time on outdated opportunities.
    • Community Engagement: Actively participating in forums like WSO can help you stay informed about new resources and openings.
    • Subscriptions: While some platforms require subscriptions, trialing them can help you decide if they’re worth the investment.

Good luck with your recruiting efforts! Staying proactive and leveraging multiple resources will give you the best chance of landing your desired internship.
