Breaking into ib from a non target

I am for sure going to a non target but still want to work at a BB, EB, or botique investment banking firm in NYC out of college. Is it possible, and if so what do I have to do to make it?

Nontarget here (+international). Get as high of a GPA as possible, join any relevant clubs on campus and network early to get referrals to SA programs. I did not SA in IB but was SUPER lucky to have landed an FT offer. Assuming you're a US citizen, you have many more doors open to you. Start hitting up boutique banks/asset management/wealth management firms or any relevant internship postings that are open to underclassmen. Obviously, lots of luck involved in the recruiting process as well so keep that in mind. It's a numbers game but if you have your story straight, seem chill and not a hardass in interviews and have basic social skills you'll land something.
