Breaking into Perth IBD
I'm an ASO 1 with M&A experience in London (sadly not in mining) who is looking to break into the Perth market. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a PR, but not Aussie.
Most of the large banks present in Perth will only look at people with mining experience so I plan to approach boutiques like Azure, Hartleys, GMP. Does anyone know which recruiters they work with? Is there any chance to network my way in, rather than submit my CV via the website link? Are there any (career) fairs etc. that they usually attend?
Also, can you think of any non-IBD roles that are known springboards into IBD (i.e. M&A practice at consulting or research firms)?
