Careers after IB? Start-up focus (non-finance)
Been in IBD for 4 years (London, boutique mm bank). Now considering exit options, but not traditional i.e. PE/HF/BB/etc.
For those who have moved on and joined start-ups, what did you apply for?
I believe IBD gives us a very scare skillset at such a young age so would like to leverage that into a role that is non finance related (think Chief of Staff, Sales (Account Directors, Partnerships, etc) or Strategy) with a view to be a CEO eventually.
The more traditional corporate path seems to be FC/FD or Corp dev, ultimately ending up as CFO (and potential move to CEO later on).
Go into strategy at an AI company or something like that. It's intellectually stimulating imo and you're working in a cusp of innovation environment.
"I believe IBD gives us a very scare skillset"
"scare" or "scarce"?
