Chances of recruiting FT in London
Didn’t get a SA offer in the UK but my cv and relevant knowledge have improved since then, so I want to know what my chances are going into this recruitment cycle in the UK. I might have a better chance at getting into IB back home in Mexico, although my salary will probably be worse than what I would make working commercial banking in the UK the first couple of years. Breaking into dcm would be optimal.
School:
Semi Target and good marks (International Student)
Work Experience:
23’ DCM in US regional boutique & Commercial Banking in Mexico
22’ Consulting small firm in Mexico
21’ Accounting local business Mexico
I also speak 3 European Languages which I’ve heard is a small bump in some London teams.
DCM is investment banking not ccb.
Anyway, your chances are low... Not because your experience is bad but just bcos FT spots are SO FEW (like 3 or 4 or something per bank) and these are always filled by laterals from other banks "upgrading" or no-return-offerees downgrading.
Your best shot is to try for a final year internship or Masters.
