CPA within RIA to Private Banking

Hi guys, currently working at an RIA in the Midwest (CPA and CFP w/ 4 YoE). I work within our trusts and estates group, largely advising on tax matters and preparing those returns with a little bit of planning sprinkled in. I've thought about going out on my own and doing tax work and trying to build out my own RIA on the side but this is easier said than done. I want to break into private banking, and possibly move the east coast (NYC/DC/Boston). I also want to get out of doing primarily tax work and start doing full picture planning with clients. I've enjoyed my time at my firm, but feel like it might just be time to move on and broaden my skillset. Private banking, based on what I've read here and other places, would probably be a good fit for my personality as I'm pretty outgoing and personable. I should note I went to an extreme non-target when it comes to banking recruiting and I don't really want to take out loans to do an MBA. I think it's safe to assume BBs are completely out of the picture, and I'm ok with that.

Is this feasible? Or am I just wasting my time here?
