Finance education in Canada

Hello. I am a 2nd year Finance student at a University in Canada. My goal upon graduation is to get an investment analyst or research analyst position. I understand this is a very competitive field which is why I'm always trying to put myself ahead of the competition. My end goal is to become an institutional equities portfolio manager.

So far:
-I have completed my Canadian Securities Course from the CSI,
-I've secured a portfolio management internship in my second year, --I'm involved with many extracurricular activities at school related to finance and capital markets
-I'm planning to write the CFA level 1 at the beginning of my 4th year.

Would you say this will be enough to land a good position upon graduation?

I was thinking about taking a couple of other courses from the CSI this summer, such as the Investment Management Techniques (IMT) and the Portfolio Management Techniques (PMT) courses.

However, I was wondering if you think these are necessary to put myself on a level above most of my competition. Or will the CFA level 1 do that on its own?

Thanks for your input.
