Firm lied to me about the nature of the work

Hey guys,

I'm a recent graduate that's been in IB for 4 months now as an analyst. I've gotten myself into this boutique with less than 20 employees, 2 of which are analysts. Everything seems to go smoothly except the fact that:

  • None of the senior people have M&A experience (except the founder, who's the only one to have experience in M&A but the deals he brought are not M&A related deals)

  • I get yelled at all the time for not knowing the work yet I just graduated 4 months ago and we haven't gotten a single training session

  • After talking with the other analyst, we found out that we were lied to as there is no bonus scheme and the assignements are not M&A assignements ( We haven't done a single M&A pitch let alone deal as the seniors have no network to bring in deals, all we do is syndicating debt or fund structuring)

The whole situation is starting to weigh on me a little because not only is the pay below street but I got lied to and yelled at while having no prior training . Now, I've done some research and it turns out that it's a bad look to lateral after 4 months. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

PS: before you ask, I did do my research about the firm but their com policy is not to communicate on anything they do or deal they close.

You should talk to associates and see if they can provide more color. Maybe you don't know it but they have done some M&A deals right before you came and it's just been slow at this time due to COVID

Will update my computer soon and leave Incognito so I will disappear forever. How did I achieve Neanderthal by trolling? Some people are after me so need to close account for safety.
