First-Year PE Analyst Seeking Advice on Next Steps

I am a first-year analyst at a MF PE firm and unsure what to do next. I interned at a hedge fund for my junior summer and found investing to be quite interesting and still think that it is a career worthwhile to pursue. However, I am not satisfied with the (close to) first year in PE. I preferred to look at a greater number of companies and get an overall view of the investment (rather than spending weeks on a single workstream for a deal) and do not enjoy the cyclicality of this work. Most importantly, I do not feel that I am a good fit for the culture, although everyone is polite and at least somewhat friendly, and it makes work rather lonely, especially as I am in a city with few prior friends. Therefore, I am thinking about next steps and would love to get your input on (1) what kind of opportunities might be a better fit for me based on the above (and for which I would be qualified) and (2) when I should think about making the move. The plan was to stay at current job for next three years (as guaranteed another year as an analyst and two years as an associate) and then attend HBS (as already accepted into 2+2 program). However, I am not sure if I should consider switching to another field or starting business school earlier or if I should at least complete the second analyst year. Thank you!
