Full time job in consulting or IB without internships possible?

Hi,

Due to some family circumstances I've had to go abroad for an extended period of time over the summer holidays so I have not been to attend any internships or gain work experience.

I'm planning on applying to jobs for after graduation soon. I'm just wondering if getting a full time job in consulting or IB would even be possible given the position I'm currently in? From what I've read applying to these industries is quite involved and typically requires plenty of research and preperation beforehand so I'd like to find out how realistic all of this is before commiting my time.

If it's of any value I'm currently at Warwick doing maths and I'm on a strong first. While I'm not expecting any jobs to be fed to me on a silver spoon could this be enough to maybe get me an interview at some smaller or lesser known firms? I'm certainly not expecting to land a job at any top firms at the moment.

Additionally, if this isn't a viable option then what would my next steps be in this situation?

Thanks in advance.
