Hep with choosing SA Offer

Received 2 SA offers for this summer, one in S&T at a BB, and then another in IB at a small boutique.

Whilst I would’ve preferred IB, because of brand name and potential conversion rates I feel as if I have to take the BB offer.

If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

If you’re open to S&T long term, the BB offer is a great move—brand name, exposure, and conversion potential all work in your favor. Even if IB was your initial preference, you’ll learn a ton, build market fluency, and keep optionality for future recruiting. Plenty of people pivot between the two, and BB S&T gives you a strong platform either way. Good position to be in.

Thanks so much for your response. I think I could be open to a long term career in S&T, but due to limited exposure can’t say for sure. I think you put it quite well, the foundation I’ll build at the BB will be very strong, which is why I’m leaning towards accepting it.

Absolutely—and if you’re not sure about S&T long term, that makes the BB offer even more valuable. You’ll get real exposure to how desks operate and whether the day-to-day suits you. Personally, I’ve always felt S&T is massively underrated for lifestyle—can’t overstate how much more reasonable the hours are compared to IB. Great way to build conviction while keeping options open.

congrats! when did you receive your offer from the BB compared to the boutique? i thought a lot of the well-known boutiques went earlier but seems some are still doing offers even now. (I would also be opting for S&T personally)
