How much risk with recruiting for MF analyst positions?

Heading into a top RX gig this summer for SA and potentially hoping to snag one of those MF analyst positions that have been frequently discussed on this forum. I've done some networking but I'm starting to get worried about my current firm catching on to what I am doing - I've noticed a lot of the MFs (BX / Ares / KKR / WP) hire from boutiques. Any way to assuage their fears (and not risk my return) or do I have to take the jump?

Older friends have told me the summers from firms that have seen high attrition will be watched closely - if you're at another bank, be careful but otherwise given quarantine should be a breeze.

Bump - would appreciate tips from anyone who has done this before (successfully or not!)
