How often to follow-up with business dev

At an SM and have been having calls with some of the MM platform business development people. Calls have gone well and they have said they’d send my profile around to different PM’s, but it might take a while to hear anything.

It’s been about a month, is it worth an email to follow-up and touch base?

Yes, following up after a month is a reasonable and professional approach. Based on the insights from Wall Street Oasis, it's important to keep the communication lines open and show your continued interest in the opportunity. Here's a suggested approach for your follow-up:

  1. Start with a polite greeting and express your gratitude for the initial conversation. Mention how you appreciated their time and the insights they shared about the business development roles.

  2. Briefly reiterate your interest in the opportunity and how you believe your skills and experiences align with the needs of their team.

  3. Politely inquire about any updates regarding your profile being shared with different PMs. Express your understanding of the time it might take for such processes but indicate your keen interest in any feedback or next steps.

  4. Close by thanking them again for their consideration and support, and express your eagerness to hear back from them.

Remember, the key is to be courteous and professional, showing your genuine interest without appearing impatient. This approach demonstrates your professionalism and keeps you on their radar without being intrusive.
