How to format/justify the sender/recipient addresses on a London cover letter

How is it done in "British style" (if that's a thing)? For the recipient address, my the LAST letters on all ADDRESS-LINES be aligned, OR is it the FIRST letters on each recipient address lines that must be aligned to one another?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some key points for formatting a cover letter, particularly focusing on the sender and recipient addresses in a professional manner:

  1. Sender's Address:

    • Place your address at the top right corner of the letter.
    • Do not include your name in the address section; it should be in the signature at the end of the letter.
  2. Date:

    • Place the date below your address, aligned to the right.
  3. Recipient's Address:

    • Align the recipient's address to the left.
    • Ensure the first letters of each line in the recipient's address are aligned to one another. This is the standard practice in British style formatting.
  4. General Tips:

    • Use a professional and aesthetically appealing font.
    • Keep the cover letter short and focused on your past work experience.
    • Proofread for grammar and formatting errors multiple times.
    • Avoid verbose language and ensure clarity.

Here is a sample layout for clarity:

[Your Address] [City, Postcode] [Country] Date [Recipient's Name] [Recipient's Job Title] [Company Name] [Company Address] [City, Postcode] [Country] Dear [Recipient's Name], [Body of the cover letter] Yours sincerely, [Your Name]

Remember, the key is to maintain a professional appearance and ensure all elements are properly aligned and formatted.
