how to get a finance internship at a boutique bank

I am currently a sophomore year student majoring in Finance right now. Note: I am a student at a non target school in NYC. Currently, I am doing a search fund internship this fall semester. I was wondering how do people get a internship at a small boutique bank? My goal is to intern at a boutique bank next spring or summer. I was wondering from people's past experience, how do you get a internship at a boutique?
