How to prioritize during On Cycle

I know on cycle has been covered on this site extensively so I apologize if this is repetitive; however, I was curious if people had insight on how you should go about prioritizing interviews if your GPA is in the 3.5-3.7 range.

For example, I’ve heard BX is more open to GPAs in the 3.5-3.7 range while KKR is less lenient. Obviously, school/IB group are important factors as well, but wanted to see if there was insight on some of the other large caps funds and things to consider when choosing one interview over another.

Not sure I view it as that deep. Your gpa will probably hurt you, but you should prioritize the firms you want to go interview at. You could prioritize Blackstone on the reasons you mentioned but you might also not get a Blackstone interview… I would probably just have broader groups of tiers of firms you would interview at. It’s not like you will be waiting around for hours to check every possible inbound before finally showing up to one interview.

Where have you networked? Where does your group historically place? Do you want to work in a particular industry group? What type investing do you want? That’s probably fine for prioritization.
