IBD London OC applications

Hi all,

Current final year at a Target University, did a summer at MBB, and have now got a full-time offer. Currently have no formal finance/ IBD experience at all, but I definitely want to intern at a BB before I start consulting full time, in case I want to exit to PE/ IBD. Any advice on how to go about applying to OCs? The current plan is to send off applications to all the BB/ EBs I've heard of through their portals, but is networking/ learning how to model DCFs/ re-doing my CV, etc. important too? Any and all help and advice is much appreciated :))

I honestly don't know. It's pretty rare I see a consultant who wants to try IB lol.

Just taking a guess, MBB, despite being MBB is still not that relevant to finance. I think it would still help if there were other things going for you on your CV like relevant ECs. If you have this stuff + you're coming from a target and not getting to interview stages, something is going wrong.

Personally wouldn’t turn down a full time MBB offer to recruit for ib off cycles…especially if PE is the goal.
