Is LinkedIn Premium worth it?
I tried cold messaging a guy from a firm I'm interested in and it led me to LinkedIn premium. The first month free, $29.99 a month after that. It allows you to direct message recruiters (don't really care), see who's viewed your profile (aka which "friends" of yours are stalking your profile), be a featured applicant, see how you compare to other candidates that applied for the same job, receive online video courses, and get instant access to salary insights (which should probably be available on glassdoor anyways).
So, people who have tried it, is it really worth it?
I used it to inmail a billionaire earlier in 2018 and ended up on the phone with him for 4 hours. So yeah I'd say it's worth it but it depends on your copywriting skill set and what you're trying to do.
Stormy, is that you?
I would argue that LinkedIn worse than Facebook now. Most of my age group rarely use Facebook and the only thing that shows up on my feed are people sharing funny videos or photos.
Meanwhile, LinkedIn is filled with people desperate for an ego stroke. Pretending to be super dedicated to their careers. Throwing out content just for the sake of throwing out content. And commenting on other’s self congratulatory posts just to get traffic to their own pages to hopefully secure a better job than the account executive job they have that pays $40k a year with no real benefits other than free beer served on Fridays after 4 pm.
