Lincoln Valuations Technical Test

Hi all — I have a modeling / technical test with Lincoln International for their valuations group coming up. Has anyone been through this before, and what should I keep a close eye on for what they’re looking for?

I took it and passed to the next round. They’re really just looking for you to explain your thought process clearly and concisely. I spent 10-15 minutes summarizing my valuation, then 10 minutes answering their questions.

They put me on the spot on certain assumptions, but all they wanted was a solid explanation. A great way to do that is to calibrate most assumptions to the initial transaction.

Overall, I’d say it wasn’t very hard since you have a whole day to prep. If you’re in a spot where you’re unsure, go with whatever you can make the best case for. I was given public comps and precedent transactions to look at, but ended up only using the public comps since i didn’t like the transactions they gave. They didn’t press me on it since I laid out my reasoning right at the start.

Good luck

Great, thanks! Was it all pretty intuitive? As in, if I know my way around a 10-K and have built a model before, should I be fine?
