London as foreigner

Good evening WSO,

To make a long story short: how do banks like foreign applicants (western country within the EU) in London? Let's say the applicant has a degree from continental Europe and no work experience in London (but good exp in cont Europe).

Should any problems arise?

Would highly appreciate if anyone working in S&T(sales specifically) in London would be willing to answer a few questions via PM.

SirBarneyOn a different note, how does London view Americans? Are they at an advantage/disadvantage/unbiased to Americans trying to find a job/internship overseas?

Americans are quite popular . You maybe the butt of a few friendly jokes but thats only because they know you wont mind. If you were a real minority they wouldnt.

As for mainland europe, as long as you dont import continental racism its quite good, you wont be as popular as North Americans. private equity always looking for foreign language speakers.

By the way, I doubt my school is target for London firms. Problem? My school is hot shit back here but in London it would be different. I know there are so many variables that might have an impact getting an offer or not, but what do you think are the top factors? Experience, school name, gpa..? I don't have any connections in London so I guess I would be on my own (wasn't a problem in the past).
