London Freshmen Summer Internship for American

Im older candidate who will be looking to secure a freshman internship for the summer of 2025. I know summer internships for college freshmen are already very hard to obtain but I wanted to know how I would go about this. Also at the moment I have no desire to work full time in the UK and would want to do my sophomore and junior internships in the US. Even if I did secure the internship would being in London for that summer hinder my efforts for a sophomore internship in the US? Ultimately I just want to work in London for a few months for the experience of it but Im wondering if this is a reasonable move. Thanks

I dont have a visa. Would this be especially hard to get or just another step for an American? Id consider summer school but that wouldn’t really add to my resume like an internship would and my freshmen summer may be better spent generally traveling or doing something else.

I guess it depends how you go about finding the internship. If you go through a company like the one above or something similar then I think they help with the visa process. But if you directly apply to internships the cost of the visa might be too high for companies to justify it for a 3 month internship
