Looking For Some Guidance - Depositary Receipts for a BB

Hey Everyone,

Currently in the interview process for an analyst role for the product team within the Depositary Receipts division of a BB bank. My concern is that quite frankly, I don’t know what this position can potentially lead too. I realize the Depositary Receipts division is profitable for the bank, but the role itself seems to consist of working with sales to prepare pricing proposals and projecting revenue, assist in the development of pricing strategies to retain clients and win new deal, contribute to policies and procedures to enhance controls, and interface with other various middle office departments. To me this is mostly mid office-esque work.

My question is how can I properly engage with the hiring manager and get a better understanding of the position and its potential exit/transfer opportunities. Should I ask how often the product team engages with Sales etc?

My end goal is that I eventually do want to get into front office, especially sales, but I want to ensure I don’t end up in a rut. If I learn that the role has heavy engagement with sales, then I can potentially network my way in. Looking for some feedback here.

All answers appreciated, thanks!
