Masters or FT Recruiting

Hello,I'm a junior at a semi target that got into IB recruiting late. I don't have a great offer this summer, but I am interested in doing banking full time after school. There are positions open at smaller local boutiques near me that I wouldn't mind working at this summer or later FT.Could I make the move from a semi target small IB summer 22 SA and then go to a bigger bank FT, then perhaps lateral? Or would it be better to work at the small bank summer 22, apply to a masters program (buy myself another year), summer 2023 SA, then return full time assuming offer.Which approach would be better if the goal is to end up at a BB or EB?

Did a masters program for a couple reasons but basically I was late to IB recruiting to start with and then Covid cancelled my junior summer internship and made FT recruiting in my senior fall a nightmare. That being said, if you can get a job at a smaller shop (intern or FT) then take it. People lateral from small shops all the time to BB/EB. If you were to do a masters program to get to the same place you'd be paying a hefty price (expensive tuition + lost banking wages for a year). Use a masters program as the absolute last resort.

Explain what you mean by that cuz that honestly makes no sense to me. You're saying a company is going to completely ignore the fact that you have an advanced degree in the area that you want to work in? Also, who told you that?
