Money or Happiness?
Have FT offer from an Infra fund I interned over the summer (London) and I had a blasting, loved the work and the people I worked with, arguably one of the best summers I had lately.
On the other hand, I have an offer for an off-cycle in IB at a BB European bank in London (UBS/DB) in IB.
My dilema is, at the Infra fund I get paid 30% less base vs IB T.comp, but I am not sure I would like the job that much. I have internet at a BB before and it wasn’t the best of experiences.
So, the question is, choose money or happiness?
You don’t have to pick one or the other. This is an early stage in your career…you can still pick the infra fund and in the long run, potentially make more than in IB. A career is a marathon not a sprint. Plenty of careers pay very well without the hours.
