Moving from PE to distressed/turnaround
My career has been spread across banking, venture/growth and opportunistic private investments (mainly healthy PE and real estate), but I'm increasingly becoming interested in distressed/turnaround PE or value-oriented hedge funds.
I wanted to ask if you guys had any input on:

How different is the day-to-day skillset required in distressed? Does the operating model/PIPE/LBO model skillset translate over? Are all distressed investment firms generally looking for a restructuring background?

Besides the Distressed Debt Analysis book, what other prep sources do you guys recommend for technical knowledge in this space? Is there any skillset prep that I can do? (for example, analyzing current bankruptcies. Are all info sources public?)

How difficult is recruiting for this transition? Do you know anyone who has done it?
