No visibility for when I can join the company as an official internal employee

Hello,

So I’m a finance graduate, I had been promised a position as an financial analyst at an Corporate & Investment Bank. However, I found myself working on the project side as my manager had said that my budget needs to be redirected into that position. After, my internship has ended I got to talk with the project manager which was newly appointed to me. However, they had only budget on the project side and no budget on the corporate level. So the manager offered me to join the team as a consultant for the time being. I have been receiving offers without applying to them. However, I stand by my ethics and trust that my manager will do the same.

In order to better assess the situation, you need to know that the manager here is always on calls, and has low communication skills as this has been the shared feedbacks from all the colleagues he/she have been working with long before me joining the team.

Furthermore, as soon as I pop up the question of wether he/she has any view on when I could join the team as an internal employee rather than an external consultant. The manager tries to not give a clear answer and dodges any answer that could leave him liable for it.

Does any one here know how to deal with the situation, and do you advise me to take interviews for the job offers I’ve been receiving and should I start applying for job offers that I see on the current company’s website I’m working at and in other competitors.

I really appreciate any insight you could provide me regarding my situation. Thank you!

Fond regards,
