Hi all, I know ops isn't the most glamorous gig in banking but having faced a number of FO rejections recently it's looking like I'll be starting a career in ops. The work doesn't seem as bad as people on here make out, but does anyone know what the pay scale is like? Analyst, associate, VP, ED, MD etc. Also would be helpful if these were salaries not in core locations - I know a lot of NYC ops are moving to Baltimore, London to Glasgow etc Thanks :)

I've been out a few years but for NYC ops Analyst: $60k base, ~1k-10k bonus (I wouldnt be shocked if it's raised to $70k by now) Associate: $80-100k base, ~$10k-$20 bonus VP: 90k-180k base (high variance), ~$10k-40k bonus Note you'll be promoted slower than IB. Expect about 7 years to make VP unless you're a rock star, or in the right place/right time. Also note, there is a big variation in pay between firms, JPM paid MUCH better than Citigroup. Also, you'll likely get your biggest pay jumps when you switch firms, not when you get promoted. I recommend leaving every 2 years.
