Police Caution (UK)

Hey guys,

This is my situation,

1) 2 years ago recieved a caution from police for online argument with someone (older than myself) who had bullied my little bro

2) was not arrested but was cautioned/processed

3) currently in consulting (deals) where background checks arent too stringent

4) i’ve really gelled well with an ibd team and final round is looking likely, if i do get it its 1 month notice

Q) The caution will show up on a background check, I dont want to leave my full time job to get my offer rescinded, how do you guys recommend i tackle this if it comes to it?

I know im being a little forward, not even got final stage let alone an offer, but even if i dont get this this is a problem i will face at some point so would appreciate advice.

If your intentions were purely to stand up for your brother, I doubt your future employer will take issue. Unless of course you threatened said individual's life or your comments were laced with bigotry or racism.

"RegretFool" None of that but all the employer sees is a police caution, which im guessing is grounds for withdrawing an offer?

I don't think it hurts to provide the employer with context once you've been extended an offer.

"m_1" At least you don't go to prison for having something as harmless as pot on you. :)

Violence is way worse than drugs. Worst comes to worst a pot head is going to...order a pizza.

In the U.S. you don’t go to prison for a marijuana charge unless you’re trafficking hundreds of pounds, you coconut-head.

In the U.K., you can LITERALLY be arrested for saying something “offensive” online. How cucked can you possibly be to welcome that as some sort of acceptable deterrent against “violence”?

Don’t forget to put your cock cage on before bed, and remember to renew your TV license, Jack.
