Quitting my internship?
Rising senior in a non-finance internship which I despise. At the beginning, I was able to study technicals/model during working hours but now I am busy enough where I no longer have that opportunity. As we move towards recruiting for FT I feel like I would be better suited quitting this job and spending time preparing for interviews/having more time to network.
I am fearful that it may look bad if I have quit an internship, or that a potential future employer would ask for a reference from my current company. Any advice is much appreciated.
(For context, I have a past internship in buy-side research, and another one lined up for this fall in LMM PE)
How would you rate the resume importance of this internship relative to the buy-side research and LMM PE? Dou have have references from the first one?
I’d say it’s a 2/5 on importance to resume. And yes can get multiple refs from past experience. My biggest concern would be having to explain that I quit, but I’ve done ~6 weeks here so could just say the program was only 6 weeks
