Recruitment Scam London????
Hi Monkeys,
Just had an hour conversation with a recruiter. I had applied for a job and they contacted me back for a pre selection interview. I was all excited but something felt bit unusual. The recruiter was really nice and helpful but 25 min into our conversation he started saying I need to do IMC (Investment Management Certificate) which was one of the requirement of the job.
Throughout our conversation, he said he need to ask his account manager if I will get a discount on the course and kept me on hold which seemed okay at first. Then he told me to go on his website and buy the IMC for £99 and register. I mentioned to him that I am basically broke (which I am) but he insisted I can pay in installment. Something just doesn't feel right....
The job role sounds good, it's a graduate investment trainee programme based in Canary Wharf but I'm just not sure if he's a genuine recruiter or a scam. Any Londoners out here who can help me out?

Clearly a scam, man. It is the "first round" and he is telling you to get a certificate? The fact that you have to pay for it, and he actually insisted on you buying right away screams scam.
