Sophomore Diversity Internship Is It Best To Recruit IB and CM?

Hi All! I'm a female student who is planning to pursue a sophomore diversity internship. So far I've been relatively focused on recruiting for banking or capital markets. I've heard banking is the best place to start your career and allows you to exit into any business job you want and allows you to exit into buy-side. I also wanted to work with companies. I've networked with a few sales and trading people and their jobs sounded more interesting but I know the field is not what it used to be and is facing automation. I've heard pursuing an IB internship will allow me to lateral into S&T my junior year if I choose to, but the other way around will not happen. I've heard you can lateral between CM and IB or between IB groups if ECM and DCM fall under IB. So is it best to pursue IB or CM in my sophomore year?
