Summer internships

I am currently a freshman at a semi-target looking to go into IB/Alternative Investments, but I do not have an internship lined up for the summer. I know it is not the end of the world, however, I still want to be active. From word of mouth and searching through WSO, I have seen that freshman internships primarily consist of PWM, AM, and Growth-Equity. Is it too late to line something up for this summer? If not, how have y'all gone about finding firms; they aren't simply a google search away. Thanks in advance!

Try asking upperclassmen who interned their freshman summers. You can work at a search fund but they won’t pay you and it’s usually shit experience. Better than nothing though, look on searchfunder.com
