Summer internships

Good morning everybody,

I am an incoming freshman, and recently I started working towards landing an internship in investment banking, I was wondering if it's possible to do 2 summer internships in the same summer.

Moreover, even if it were possible, does it make sense? Or it's only a waste of time and energy?

I hope someone has a valid response.

Thanks to everybody who will answer my questions.

Second year is when you would do an internship which would hopefully convert to a FT role. Most are 8-10 weeks long. So you’d be short on time to do 2.

First year summers are not that common to do, so they aren’t as structured as second year summers, which are designed to have a pathway to FT. Hope that helps! Any other Qs, feel free to ask:)

Is it possible? Of course.

Obviously not any of the structured programs, they tend to be 8-10 weeks but if you happen to organise a 4 week one yourself, there's nothing stopping you organising another...

Is there any point? Well, depends how far along in your "career" you are. If you're not sure what you want to do, it gives you more chance to try things out. In addition, if you are only able to get an offer for a month-long internship, then obviously 2x 1 month internships is better than 1x.

Thanks for the answer!

Consider i'm at the very beginning of my journey into IB, so is it actually possible to organize a 1-month internships with some investment banks?
