Two Weeks After Assessment Centre - Assume no offer?
Two weeks ago I had an final round assessment centre interview for an IB position in London. Normally, I'd assume that after this long I didn't get it. Except for two days after the interview, they called me and told me that they really liked me, the "feedback was very positive" and that they needed more time to make the final decisions and I'd know more next week (last week). When I followed up last week, they told me that they needed to speak to my assessors and so weren't ready.
Does this mean that I'm a second choice option (on the waitlist after they offered it to someone else)? Why would they directly reach out to tell me I did well if they don't want to give an offer? Is that just to cover their bases?
