Urgent: Renege Low-Tier BB for Higher-Tier BB

I know ‘tiers’ are a meme, but obviously I want to work for the better quality bank. Have accepted an offer for a lower tier BB (UBS/DB), but have just got an offer for a ‘better’ bank (BofA/Barclays).

Interested in eventually working in venture/growth, or joining a startup.

Not sure if it matters, but BofA/Barclays is a fresh apply and my current (UBS/DB) is a return offer.

Is it worth the renege?

Thanks!

No idea for either unfortunately. Any colour on bofa or barclays tech/fig/consumer teams?

Yes you only get 1 career. Don’t let it get ruined by a lower tier bank

bit of a stretch to say his whole career will be ruined from starting at a lower tier bank, it’s not that serious over a 30/40 year career.

Barclay’s probably isn’t worth it

BOFA yes, shorter analyst programme but also more bloated which is something to consider

This isn't clear-cut and I don't think the differences are so obvious that you must do it (assuming the groups aren't significantly different - and if you have to go through FT placement, you usually get the lower groups anyway)

Did you like your group this summer? Is it worth starting off a bit on the back foot versus the others next summer, who will already know people in the group and how things work at that bank?

My previous team got canned. Looking strictly from a exit/experience perspective.
