What is the common interview process for consulting jobs?

Hi everyone,

Please could someone give me advice on the interview process for consulting jobs, I have a few coming up and I am not sure what to expect.

Thanks :)

Hello!

From what I can remember for consulting jobs they normally prefer 1-1 interviews, primarily with a focus on competency-based interviews, I'd recommend looking into the STAR technique for these types of interviews as they can help you to answer the questions you will face!

Best of luck! :)

STAR is quite similar to CAR, the main difference being that STAR adds extra context instead of just analysing the Challenge faced in CAR. STAR looks at the Situation that you were facing and also the Task, which is what goal you were aiming for. The Action and Result are done the same but the first two expands more allowing further detail in a more strategic way :)
