Where to Start in the Abundant World of Finance?

I like finance. It is certainly a major that i’ve enjoyed studying. The problem is that I am quite indifferent to the careers within finance, in that, I think there are so many sectors that would be at least somewhat interesting to me and that I would be reasonably good at.

I am coming towards the later part of my degree, so it is important that I start to decide which finance career would suit my personality best.

I would love to get more experienced people’s perspectives on what some of the most interesting finance careers are.

At this point, I feel as though I will just end up aiming for whatever pays best. However, I know that this may lead me to not enjoying my work later on down the track, given money was the premise of my career choice.

Financial planning, investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, asset management & management consulting have all being considered.

I like the idea of immersion into all of these for one reason or another and yet they are all inherently different…
