Why are cars more expensive in UK?
I was just looking at some cars in US and UK.
Audi Q7 in US starts at $ 47,000 (£ 31,000)
Audi Q7 in UK starts at $ 66,000 (£ 43,500)
I just don't understand why it is like this?
Elasticity of demand of US consumers is higher...
Taxes and UK car buyers are treated like mugs.
Everything in the US is pretty cheap compared to the UK. I laugh whenever I hear Americans complaining about "$4 gas!". Get real. Here it costs £1.40 for 1 litre = roughly $10 a gallon.

In Singapore, $260,000 gets you a base BMW 335i.
Audi Q7 is $380,000 making the Ferrari 458 look like a steal at only $810,000.

@BTbanker wow that is crazy. I just looked up audi Q7 it's 380,000 in SGD but even then in USD it is about 300,000. That just makes me wonder if US has the cheapest cars?
