Worth negotiating on starting salary?
I’ve been offered a job with salary that is almost a DOUBLE my current pay which I was excited about when I got called about it.
Upon taking the time to think through and research I realised the salary offered is still 10% below the lower boundary salary range.
Notwithstanding the fact that it’s already almost a double to my current base pay, any harm to ask for a bit more to be in line with the average pay scale? Will I get shot down by eveni asking given such an increase?
Don't be anchored by your current salary, which is criminally below-market. Base your perspective on the fair market range. It never hurts to negotiate as long as you are sure about the offer; the worst outcome, in this case, will be 2x times your current salary.
