Would SVB be a net-negative on my CV?
There's an opportunity being advertised for a 12 month programme at SVB. I'm unsure of whether or not to apply because I'm concerned it might be a net negative on my CV... Anyone have any comments?
Thanks

Career Resources
Are you sure it's a current posting? I'm fairly certain you have a listing for the "old" entity. I see a TON of SVB jobs from third-party sites, they say "2 days ago" or whatever, but they all also mention SVB's stock ticker at the bottom so they are old postings. The actual SVB careers website (that says it's a division of First Citizens Bank) has zero jobs available on it.
It's a new posting I'm fairly sure, because it's in the UK where SVB continues to operate backed by HSBC.
Got it. Not really worth debating this hypothetical stuff until you get an offer... I would take a BB or other solid name offer over this of course, but if you are struggling for offers I don't think it is career-ruining, and would take it over no offers in this market. SVB was a strong bank pre-issues and it's not like you, analyst starting 6 months after the crisis, had anything to do with it.
