you guys ever take long-shots at job applications? What's the craziest interview you've landed?
You guys ever take long-shots at job applications?
You know... the ones you're not even close to qualified for, but damn it looked good, and wouldn't it be perfect to work there?
What's the craziest interview you've landed?
Worked in a telecoms VC team and a top-tier tech company from the Silicon Valley had a recruiter where, due to summer holidays, most candidates dropped out or weren't available. Got a call whether I might be interested in an interview slot THE SAME DAY (like, within 3 hours). Went in without prep and actually got a job offer the same day.
Even when I started I couldn't believe I actually landed that job. Stayed for a year and then went back into banking/finance.
Non-target, expelled during sophomore year, got back in, still graduated with a sub 3.0 GPA, now analyst at event-driven HF. I fedex'd copies of my resume and idea write ups directly to the CIOs of funds I admired.
