20 Years Old, Two years experience investing my own money

I'm Alexander.

I started with the stock market by trying to learn what options were. However, I had to learn the basics first. I started my first year learning about all the quirks of the market, what each ratio means, how the ratios are calculated, balance sheet, income statement, etc. It was awesome.

I started with buying equity and selling puts on companies that dropped after their earnings came out. Companies that had a strong balance sheet. At that time, I believed no debt was the best thing to look for, but I've since learned it's more complicated than that.

My first full year, 2017, I managed a 21.9% return, barely skidding past the S&P 500. How'd I do it? Just luck.

2018 is rough. I've broken even since inception.

This is the best forum I've found. I've learned valuable practical knowledge.

Glad to meet you guys/gals.
