Almost a Financial Economics Student

Hello everybody. I'm Mark, 27 years old. I live in London (UK) since 2011. I lived in Italy since I was born until I moved here. Finance has always been one of my passions but unfortunately it's only recently that I decided to pursue a career in this field (hedge fund more precisely) starting with a Degree in Financial Economics. I got into the University of my choice (Birkbeck University as I work full time and it is the only one with evening courses) and the course is due to start in October. I'm still waiting to hear from Student Finance England as I've been denied the tuition fee loan due to the fact that I studied in a university before. I then applied for the maintenance loan which shouldn't be a problem to get (at least they say).
So, as I said, the dream is to work in hedge fund. I know it's still really far but I like to plan everything in the details. What do you guys reckon I should do after my degree? Get an internship and then go for a Master? Internship and MBA? Or try to find a job (even not directly related to Hedge Fund) and build my way up?
Thanks!

Mark

hi mark

first off, i applaud your effort for chasing your dream despite being 27 already i wish there were more people like you

anyway, you should definitely try to get an internship after your first year at your university i'd recommend you do as much networking as you can now in order to achieve this
