Am I Screwed? New User Help

Hi everyone. I’m a new monkey here, I’ve known about this site for a while, but did not sign up until now. Something like this has probably been already discussed, but I couldn’t find an adequate posting, so here we are.

I am a senior coming from what would be thoroughly considered a non-target school, which has a non-existent alumni network in finance. I’m late to the networking game when it comes to IB/PE/AM, as I had only decided on finance about a year ago. Thankfully, I was able to secure a summer internship (not as an analyst however) at one of the top PE firms in the world this past summer, but a FT offer was never a possibility (this was made clear from the start).

I have a 3.8 GPA, double major in Econ/Philo, and am quite aware that the odds are completely stacked against me when it comes to breaking into the finance world. I could use some advice from you monkeys right now, for now and the future. I plan on applying to a top business school in the future, but what should my course of action be until then? Should I look for a less prestigious role as a financial analyst or something of the sort, and leverage an MBA to break into the field later? Any feedback would be appreciated!
