Australian CFO (Prop Trading Firm) - Hope I can help.

Hi WSO

My name is Alex Novak, I'm from Australia and was in NYC recently at a conference when this website was mentioned as one of the best forums for fostering new talent and recruiting.

In Australia our financial services industry is a little different from in the US. I don't actually know if there are any stockbrokers here, everyone is grouped together as Financial Planners and that incorporates selling stocks to life insurance.

I have worked in a number of roles but earlier this year decided to take up a partnership offer with a proprietary trading firm and now I'm back doing what I love - trading the markets and motivating other people to trade the markets.

I'd be more than happy to help anyone who is looking for career advice in either Australia or the US. I have spent a considerable amount of time in the US and Hong Kong.

Feel free to contact me on LinkedIn or IB - "novakfinance"at"bloomberg"dot"net (I can't post links yet).
